About Me
Hello, my name is Irma Fontecchio.
I was born in Palermo, which is in the Italian region of Sicily and moved to Australia in 2015, after completing my master's Degree in Political Sciences and International Relations.
My arrival in Australia signified the beginning of my journey, personally, spiritually and physically too. I have been able to travel and live in different countries such as Spain and New Zealand, South America, always being driven by seeking change and transformation. It was my own journey inwards, that revealed my profound passion for helping others and exploring the intricacies of the human mind.
Through this dedication I became a certified counsellor and I am working towards obtaining a degree in Psychology.
I believe that we each hold the power of inner transformative exploration.
Given the right tools, we have the ability to self-discover and self-heal, and fill our own lives with joy.
My Approach
My approach is based on person-centred therapy principles that acknowledge the client's innate drive for personal growth and self-actualization.
My role as a counsellor is to create a nonjudgmental space that fosters genuine self-exploration for self-awareness and self-acceptance, opening the door to the discovery of unconscious patterns and triggers.
Together, we navigate the processing of both past and present life events by addressing root causes, not just symptoms. This enables us to effectively treat and modify harmful behaviors and routines.
I operate under the fundamental belief that the client is the expert on their own experiences, and meaningful solutions can emerge organically from their self-awareness.
